How much does it cost to have an event at Four Winds Farm?

We offer transparent pricing and we do not charge more for weddings than other events.
Download our price sheet for the breakdown of our packages.

What time of year is Four Winds Farm available for rental?

We are a boutique venue open June through mid-October. We only book 16 events before we close the bookings due to our local permits, so be sure to book your spot early, because once we fill up, that’s it!

Our venue is closed for events November through May, but we offer tours year-round.

Do you have availability for 2027?

We are fully booked for 2027 and are now only touring for the 2028 season and beyond. Please check out our availability page and email for more information.

Can I book for 2028?

Yes! We have a lot of availability for 2028, and are now actively booking and touring for that season.

What does the one-day package include?

Our All-in-One Package is for couples who want to keep it simple! Your rental begins at 9am (although early dropoff is allowed), you set up for your event, hold your ceremony, party at your reception, and clean up, all in one day. This is a lot to do for most events, so we do advise this package just for couples who know they can handle this kind of quick turnaround.

What does the two-day package include?

Our Too Sweet Two Day Package is very popular because it allows an extra day for set-up, rehearsal and welcome party or rehearsal dinner. You arrive on Friday at 9am to set up, afternoon rehearsal, evening dinner with party or guests. Saturday you can take your time getting ready at your lodgings, arrive for ceremony early afternoon, and enjoy your reception before evening clean-up.

What does the three-day package include?

Our Three Cheers Three-Day Package includes everything in the two-day package, but allows an extra half-day on Sunday to provide a final breakfast meetup with your guests in the barn and take your time cleaning up. This is the most accessible package for couples who are putting on a big bash with lots of moving parts. It allows you to let loose on your wedding day and worry about the clean-up later.
Final check-out is at 2pm.

Do you provide lodging?

We have partnered with Stepping Stones Farm for a fantastic new lodging option. Stepping Stones is in Temple, NH and is a 15-minute drive. They offer lodging for up to 40, along with kitchens, pool, and a gorgeous location. Please inquire for Four Winds discounts and packages. Transportation to and from Stepping Stones may be available, so please inquire.

There are many other lodging options available, please check out our vendor page for more.

What are my catering options?

Four Winds Farm is rented as just the venue, so you must provide your own catering.

Can I do a potluck? YES!

Can I do a food truck? YES!

Can I do a catering company? YES! We have a staging room where your caterers can set up the food to deliver plates for a sit-down dinner. You can also do a buffet style in the Barn. We do not have a catering kitchen, so any cooking on-site will need to have a built-out kitchen by your caterers.

Can we do a pig roast or BBQ? YES! Inquire about options.

Do you have a kitchen on-site for my caterers to cook in? No, we just have a staging room with fridges, sink, and countertops. Please have your catering company plan accordingly.

Check out our vendor page for local catering companies.

Do you provide tables and chairs?

Yes, we supply a baseline number of tables and chairs.

Tables: We offer the use of ten 72″ round folding tables included in the Barn package. These tables can seat 8-10 people. We also have several rectangular fold-ups and a handful of antique tables that can be used for food setup and bar.

Chairs: We provide 150 white folding chairs. They can be used for both ceremony and reception depending on reception location.

If you are holding your ceremony near the Hill House, you will want to rent a separate set of chairs.

You will be able to set up tables and chairs in any way you decide, and will be responsible for changing the set up throughout the event. We do not have a staff on hand to move tables/chairs during your event.

What kind of decor do I need to provide?

The Barn is dripping with antique charm and authentic regional relics. It is well-lit with market lights, charming sconces and hanging lanterns.

However, you will need to provide all linens, tablecloths, dish-ware, silverware, cups, bar-ware, vases, and floral arrangements.

Do you provide a sound system?

We do not have a sound system, so you will provide whatever you need for music, dancing, or a band. Please let us know what your plan is prior to arrival.

Can I tour Four Winds Farm?

Yes, we offer tours year round upon appointment only. Please email us to schedule your tour.

I'm ready to book! How do I secure my date?

Email us to confirm that your date is still available. To secure your date you must fill out our reservation form, review and sign our contract and then send a check for your deposit. With contract and deposit the date is yours!

What methods of payment can I use?

We prefer to be paid with check.

Why do I need a wedding planner?

To book our venue you need a wedding planner or a day-of-event-coordinator who has experience. The person you designate does not need to be a paid professional, but must be someone who has planned and organized an event before.

Your wedding planner is the point person you’ve designated to communicate with us during your event and also coordinate with your caterers, toilet delivery, tent rentals, table and chair setup, and all the other behind the scenes tasks.

Trust us, you will be too busy on this important day – so choose someone who can really handle the organization, the pressure, and the potential mishaps that occasionally do happen. If you have a catering company, there may be someone on staff who can do this role.

Check out our vendor page for local planners if you choose to hire someone.

What's the deal with renting toilets?

We are a very old property and our septic system cannot handle wedding-sized events, so you will need to rent toilets for your event. We have several local options that drop off and pick up for reasonable prices. You can go fancy or keep it simple!

If you are having your ceremony or any part of your event at the Hilltop sites (Maple Tree, Sunken Garden, Old Pillar Patio), you will need to rent a second toilet for that location.

Check out our vendor page for local rental companies.

Because we only host one event per weekend, you can have your toilets dropped off on Friday before the event and picked up on Monday, even if you are just doing a one day event. Please inquire about early/late vendor dropoffs.

Should we rent heaters?

We have four propane heaters available as add-ons to your rental. These can be used indoors or outdoors and can be requested close to the event date as you are eyeing your upcoming weather. $25 per heater, as needed.

How much firewood is provided?

We provide a baseline firewood supply for your event. The refill stocking fee is $100.

How late can we party?

All amplified music MUST be indoors, aside from ceremony amplification. Reception music must be off at 9pm to abide by the Peterborough noise ordinance, as well as consideration for our neighbors. After music-off, we allow 1 hour of grace period to pack up and transition your event wherever it goes next. The Barn must be vacated by 10pm.

Please party responsibly and have guests consider a designated driver in order to ensure a safe event.

Do you have a list of preferred vendors?

While we do not have preference, we have compiled a list of local vendors that to get you started. Please make your best judgment when choosing your vendors, as these are not recommendations, just a list of options. Also, be sure to check with each company to make sure they serve the Peterborough area.

Check out our vendor page.

Do we have to clean up?

Clean up expectations are that you and your vendors will leave the venue in acceptably clean conditions. We hire an outside cleaning crew after your event, but we expect that the space will be left in a similar shape to how you found it upon arrival.

Trash from your event should be left in a dumpster we will provide for you. We will have separate bins for recycling to be used for your event.

Your deposit will be returned if these conditions are met, and if any damages exceed the $500 deposit, we will send you an invoice.

Do we need a licensed bartender?

If you choose bar service, the state of New Hampshire requires a licensed bartender. For BYO, please inquire directly with the venue.

Can we work out early drop-off or arrival times?

Each package includes your time for setup and tear down. However, if you have a question about an early dropoff or clean up exception, please inquire with us and we will be flexible if schedule allows.

How many cars can park?

We are able to pack in over 75 cars to our parking lot, which usually covers any wedding held at our venue.

Can I do a non-wedding event?

We consider non-wedding events upon request at other times of the year based on availability, but our prices are the same as weddings. Please inquire at events@fourwindsfarmevents.com about any fundraiser dinners, memorials, or family reunions.

Our Barn is not winterized so we only offer these based on season and availability.

Who lives at Four Winds Farm?

We (Ian and Bri) live in the Hill House, and we run the Four Winds Farm Events. We’ve been very hands-on with bringing this dream to fruition and are hoping to implement a venue with longevity and a connection with the community.

We also have longterm tenants who live on the property adjacent to the events space – their living area will be marked as “private” should any guests wander off. Please respect their privacy.

Do you have animals at the farm?

YES! We are happy to be hosting Wagyu cows for the local farmers at New England Wagyu. Check out their website to learn more!

In the future we hope to cultivate more relationships with local farmers to provide more for our community. Please contact us if you are an interested farmer!

Can I still buy meat & dairy from Four Winds Farm?

Dancing Ground Farm previously rented our barns and fields, but have retired to Puerto Rico!

You can no longer purchase meat or dairy at our farm, and our old farm store has been converted into an art studio.

Be sure to check out where you can buy the local Wagyu beef from our current farming operation!
